Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu to attend the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference
Singapore, 1 December 2023 – Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Grace Fu, will visit Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 7 to 12 December 2023, to attend the Resumed High-Level Segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its associated meetings. Minister Fu’s attendance follows from Senior Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Climate Change (IMCCC) Mr Teo Chee Hean’s attendance at COP28 World Climate Action Summit from 2 to 5 December 2023, where he will be delivering Singapore’s National Statement.
2 At the invitation of the UAE COP28 President-designate, Minister Fu, and Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Espen Barth Eide, will be co-facilitating the ministerial consultations on climate mitigation, which will seek to forge consensus to raise global ambition for accelerating the world’s net-zero transition. Minister Fu will also attend other high-level events at COP28, hold meetings with counterparts, and participate in events at the Singapore Pavilion on Green Government, water and climate issues.
3 Minister Fu will be accompanied by officials from agencies on the IMCCC.
