Senior Minister Of State For Sustainability And Environment Dr Koh Poh Koon To Attend The 8th Ministerial On Climate Action Meeting

Singapore, 21 July, 2024 – Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, will attend the 8th Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA) meeting, in Wuhan, China, from 22 to 23 July 2024.

Singapore’s participation in the 8th MoCA meeting is at the invitation of the People’s Republic of China’s Minister of Ecology and Environment Dr Huang Runqiu. Established in 2017, the annual by-invitation only MoCA meeting aims to enhance international cooperation on the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

At the 8th MoCA meeting, Ministers will discuss ways to strengthen climate action and build momentum in advance of COP29, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024. SMS Koh will also meet bilaterally with counterparts from other participating countries to discuss how we can strengthen cooperation on environmental sustainability and resilience.

SMS Koh will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Climate Change Secretariat.
